I was with Esurance for about 7 years. My premiums consistently went down and I never had a problem with them until this past year. A car on my policy was in an accident. It should have been totaled, but wasn’t. The car was fixed, but not completely. After complaining that the transmission wasn’t working properly, because of the accident, we were told that this was not a result of the accident. Even though the car would not go into gear after the accident and the transmission was fine before that. Their “dedicated claims rep” was not so dedicated to us. He would take 3-4 days to call or e-mail back when we had a question. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this experience.

When it comes time for you to buy that new car that you have finally been able to save for you need to make sure you are in a position to cover all the expenses. Some people are led to believe that if they walk onto a dealership’s parking lot that all they have to do it pick a car, sign the papers, and drive off the lot. No one thinks about auto insurance, license plates, registration, gap insurance or even a protection plan for the paint and under carriage.
Before you do go to look at that car and to see whether or not you can buy it do your research. Look online to see if the make and model and what type of insurance you will need if the car is financed.

1 Answer Network is urging consumers to put their faith in local brokers to find the best insurance deals, as a hardening general insurance market sees higher premiums and reduced benefits.
Insurers now need greater capital adequacy but are facing lower investment returns and a high incidence of claims, in some areas of the market.
The Network is therefore predicting that premiums will rise, benefits will be reduced, excesses raised and extras in insurance packages thinned out.

My daughter was alone in Africa on vacation. she decided to extend her trip for 2 additional weeks. Travelguard would NOT extend her coverage for another 2 weeks for any price. No other company would insure her because she was already there. So as a result, my daughter had NO coverage for 2 weeks. Make sure you read the small print!!
